S.T. Dupont joins forces with luxury fashion house Casablanca for a neo-antique collaboration celebrating the beauty and elegance of sport. In a new step of a creative journey marked by partnerships with the fashion world—Karl Lagerfeld, The Row, and Saint Laurent—S.T. Dupont collaborates with Casablanca, inspired by the world of tennis and the invention of modern day sport. Founded in 2018 by Charaf Tajer, Casablanca reinterprets the classic codes of aprés-sport attire into a refined and relaxed wardrobe, blending luxury and leisurewear. Drawing from classic sports codes and tennis aesthetics, its palette is vibrant with colours and hand-painted illustrations. A great cigar enthusiast, collector of antique lighters, and fan of S.T. Dupont, Charaf Tajer now ignites the S.T. Dupont flame of optimism that characterises his house, always looking at the beauty of the world. The colours are bold, the lines modern, and the patterns powerful. Inspired by Ancient Greece, in continuation of the Casablanca Autumn-Winter 2024 collection, S.T. Dupont's iconic lighters, pens, and accessories reinvent Hellenic architectural details and athletic representations on amphorae. Columns and capitals, wave or meander friezes, and the neo-antique figure of the tennis player blend with Casablanca's essential motifs. "Tennis," "Mosaic," and "Leather Goods" compose this collaboration.
TENNIS
A core element of Casablanca, the racquet sport indeed inspires the first line of this collaboration, aptly named Tennis. The Ligne 2 lighter, cigar humidor, and ashtray are adorned with coloured lacquer squares, reinterpreting the lines of tennis courts and decorative historic Greek architecture. Illustrated tennis players serve as a mural inspired by the profiles of athletes on Panathenaic amphorae and ancient ceramics.
MOSAIC
A key motif in Casablanca's vocabulary over the seasons, the mosaic, an ancestral ornamental technique, is now reinvented by the craftsmen and lacquer masters of S.T. Dupont. Slimy, Biggy, accessories, and the Line D Eternity pen are thus adorned with a metal mosaic guilloche or a mosaic pattern, sometimes enhanced by a layer of transparent lacquer.
LEATHER GOODS
Both specialists in leatherwork and bags, Casablanca and S.T. Dupont naturally develop a line of leather goods for this collaboration. Cross-body cigar pouch, document holder, and, in slightly grained leather, a case for two cigars and a case for one pen are highlighted with Casablanca's primary colours and the white lines borrowed from tennis courts. Blending S.T. Dupont's iconic items and Casablanca's design codes, this partnership also symbolises the challenge both houses set around craftsmanship and excellence.
